Aquaponics: Easy and Rewarding!

Sharing one of our family's science experiments... 🌱

My wonderful wife, Amber, gave this china cabinet new life as an AQUAPONICS GARDEN!!!

After several successes and failures, we're starting to get the hang of it 😉 Many of the empty spaces were taken up by various greens that were harvested prior to these photos. The bell peppers have grown surprisingly well and the first peppers are starting to turn red! (ignore the labels 😊 they were accurate at one point 🤣 but there have been a few adjustments since then)

Amber feeds these plants with the water from our Tilapia tanks (stay tuned, we'll discuss that project another time). In the past 6 months or so, we've been able to grow several varieties of salad greens, bell peppers, jalapeno peppers, and a variety of herbs in this system.

You can buy your own system for several hundred dollars OR get creative with used materials and save some $$$.

We purchased the pvc portion and repurposed the tank, filter, pump, and light from other experiments. Many of those parts were picked up used from online marketplaces (some FREE).

Get out there and learn something new! There's more FREE information than ever before! We get a lot of joy out of gardening AND eating all of the foods we produce. We're excited to be able to produce our own eggs, chickens & ducks (incubator), goat milk (and cheese!), tilapia, and a variety of fruits, vegetables, and herbs. Every year we add to that list of successes as a family, with plans for fruit & nut trees, a bee hive, and more!
